Art that inspires action – for
the climate, the environment,
and the future
Blue Demonstration e.V. is a non-profit organization based in Heidelberg that has been combining art, education, and climate protection since 2020. Through our projects, we create spaces where creativity becomes a driving force for sustainable thinking and action.
Together with schools, universities, and local environmental authorities, we develop innovative art projects that not only make a visible impression but also have a lasting impact. Our educational concepts make climate protection tangible, personal, and emotionally engaging—especially for children and young people.
Old, discarded shoes are at the heart of our work. What others throw away becomes a powerful symbol of change for us. In climate art, we give these shoes a new life – and transform waste into meaningful art. The shoes are collected through schools and painted bright blue by students.
Each pair tells a personal story: it represents a specific climate protection measure that the respective child or young person has already implemented. The measure and the amount of COâ‚‚ saved are recorded under each shoe – visible, traceable, and effective.
The result is impressive climate art installations that move, inspire, and invite people to get involved. They show that every single action counts – and that even small steps can make a big difference.
