Frank Schlottmann has been working as a freelance artist in Heidelberg for 27 years and has held numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad. In 1999, during the last twelve hours of the old millennium and the first twelve hours of the new millennium,  he portrayed twelve important cities in Germany and exhibited them on New Year's Eve in the Reichstag in Berlin at the invitation of then Bundestag President Wolfgang Thierse.

On the anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York, he organized a worldwide art project. The vernissage took place on Sept. 11, 2002 in a jumbo jet "Boeing 747" at the Technik Museum in Speyer and was broadcast 24 hours worldwide in real time via the Internet on the home page of AOL.
